Roz Weinberger
Working in clay is so visual and tactile that my imagination can go anywhere to create a beautiful array of pieces. Quickly the opportunity to turn a lump of clay into different shapes became fascinating to me. Putting my hands on the clay and combining them with the wheel and watching a form come to life is the ultimate thrill.
I create both functional and decorative pieces. My functional work is fired to 2300 degrees and is food, oven, microwave and refrigerator safe. My decorative work is fired in a gas kiln and either removed at 1000 degrees and horsehair is laid on it or removed at 1800 degrees and placed in sawdust where combustion occurs and the results are beautiful lusters and matte finishes. The decorative pieces are art pieces to be used to decorate your home or office.
All the created pieces make beautiful and touching gifts for any occasion.
